Korea to re-issue visas for Vietnamese tourists from June 1

From June 1, South Korea officially re-issued C-3 short-term visas for tourists from level 1 countries, including Vietnam.

The C-3 short-stay tourist visa is issued to ordinary tourists. Grantees are not only tourists, but also people who intend to stay short-term in Korea, for the purpose of market investigation, business cooperation, consulting, contract signing, small-scale commerce. and other similar purposes. For those who want to travel to Korea, they must have a C-3 visa to be allowed to enter here.

This type of visa has a 90-day stay in Korea, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it has been stopped from March 14, 2020.

Particularly for multiple travel visas (Multiple Visas) issued before April 5, 2020 are still allowed to be used.

Previously, the Interior Minister of this country announced that from June 1, Vietnamese tourists will be exempted from visas when entering Jeju and Yangyang on charter flights.

Specifically, Vietnamese tourists can stay at Jeju Island for up to 30 days without a visa, applicable to passengers flying charters or connecting flights in a third country. Guests can go on a tour or on their own, but are not allowed to enter the mainland or go to other places. For destinations Yangyang (Gangwon province), guests are exempted from visa for up to 15 days. Guests are required to buy a tour from a travel company and travel in groups of five to enjoy this offer.

The resumption of visa-free programs, after being suspended from February 4, 2020 due to the Covid-19 epidemic, is one of the Korean Government’s policies in an effort to attract international tourists, in which Vietnamese guests.

In addition, the Korean Government also removed many barriers for foreign visitors, such as exempting the mandatory isolation for fully vaccinated guests; ban on wearing masks outdoors.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), in 2019 – the time before the Covid epidemic, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea was about 550,000. MICE tourism alone is more than 71,000 visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2019, ranking first among 32 markets with visitors to Korea.
