The newspaper reported that Uralvagonzavod, a Russian company, which is considered the largest manufacturer of battle tanks in the world, was urgently requested to send an undisclosed number of T-90M tanks. State-of-the-art Proryv for the Russian Ministry of Defense.

This information was also reported by RIA Novosti, Russia’s state-owned domestic news agency. This newsletter was one of the most read news stories on the RIA Novosti website of the day.

The tanks were then loaded onto trains and sent to the front in Ukraine after a “solemn ceremony,” according to Newsweek.

The RIA also reported that drawings and letters from the children of Uralvagonzavod personnel were included in the tank as “a symbol of our support for the Russian soldiers, as well as to show respect and faith in their courage”.

Uralvagonzavod, headquartered in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, belongs to Rostec, Russia’s state-owned defense corporation.

The T-90M tank brought to the Ukrainian front is a model developed by the Ural Transport Design Bureau and is considered the most advanced version of the T-90 tank family.

According to RIA Novosti, this tank model is “best adapted to modern combat conditions”. According to the news agency, the T-90M can exchange data with other tanks in real time.

As described by Izvestia, the T-90M tank with the same turret equipped with a magazine has been declared by Western defense industry experts as a design flaw that has caused great losses to Russia in Ukraine.

According to experts, the Western military is aware of the “detonation effect” in Russian tanks – a “fatal” weakness that makes the vehicle very susceptible to catching fire and exploding when ammunition is stored in the turret.

According to Izvestia, the T-90M tank is equipped with a 125mm cannon and guided missiles capable of hitting armored targets, including air targets, at a distance of up to 5 km.

The delivery of T-90M tanks to the Russian army in Ukraine has not yet been confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Newsweek has reached out to Russian authorities for comment.
