Deforestation, 28 people arrested

According to the survey, in early April, dozens of people in Ya To Mot, Ia Rve, and Ea Le communes used chainsaws, cars, etc., to destroy 382 hectares of natural forest in sub-zone 205, and sub-zone 222. destroyed, trees were scattered, more than 1,000 m3 of wood was lost.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duong, Director of Dak Lak Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, this is a large-scale, organized forest destruction, the deforestation group used cars to transport people to saw timber within a period of 15 days.

“People said the chainsaw was loud for a long time, but the forest owner, the People’s Committee of Ya To Mot commune and the local ranger force, said they didn’t know,” Mr. Duong said.
