Boat with 60 people capsized in Lebanon

There were only Lebanese and Syrians on this ill-fated boat. Currently, Lebanese authorities are searching for the remaining people.

The Lebanese Red Cross has dispatched more than 10 ambulances to the port of Tripoli, the poorest city on the Mediterranean coast.

More than 1,500 people, including 186 Lebanese, left or attempted to leave Lebanon illegally by sea between January and November 2021, the UN refugee agency said.

Lebanon, a country of about 6 million people is grappling with an unprecedented financial crisis.
