Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway has many devices stolen

Ho Chi Minh CityPackage J2 of Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway was stolen many anti-glare panels, garbage nets, electrical systems… the estimated damage was 11 billion VND.

On the evening of May 28, the Executive Board of Package J2 (item of road, viaduct, bridge over river…) said that the lighting cable on Song Cha bridge (section in Binh Khanh commune, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City) HCM) of the package lost more than 80%. The building also lost 57 anti-glare nets out of a total of 76 panels; 10 anti-glare columns were removed out of a total of 28 columns on the bridge deck…

Package J2 was completed in 2017, but has not been accepted and handed over. The theft of equipment causes costs and time for the contractor. The whole project has security guards on duty day and night, at the up and down positions, but thefts still occur. Currently, the contractor reported the incident to the authorities.

Highway Ben Luc – Long Thanh 57 km long, passing through Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, with a total investment of more than 31,000 billion VND, started construction in 2014, invested by Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation. The starting point of the project of intersection of the HCM City – Trung Luong Expressway and the Ring Road 3; the end point at the intersection of National Highway 51 (Dong Nai). The route has 4 lanes for traffic and two lanes for emergency stops, with a speed of 120 km/h.

As planned, the project was completed in 2019, but encountered many problems, so the completion time was delayed to 2023. Currently, the project has reached more than 80% of the volume.

Recently, a number of projects in Ho Chi Minh City have also been stolen. Most recently, Thu Thiem 2 bridge was lost after opening 40 garbage shields; To Huu street in Thu Thiem urban area, Thu Duc city, nearly dozens of manhole covers.
