Ministry of Health warns of fake pain relievers

The Drug Administration of Vietnam said that on November 8, 2021, this unit sent an official dispatch to the Departments of Health of the provinces and centrally-run cities to notify them of the detection of suspected fake product samples. The drug listed on the label is Voltaren 75 mg solucion inyectable; Manufacturer Novartis Farmacécutica, SA; Lot number 81111, expired in December 2023.

The product sample showed many different signs compared to the Voltaren 75 mg/3 ml drug sample, number VN-20041-16 manufactured by Lek Pharmaceuticals dd (Slovenia), imported and supplied by Novartis Vietnam Co., Ltd.

On May 17, 2022, the Drug Administration of Vietnam continued to receive a letter from Novartis Vietnam Co., Ltd. reporting on the detection of product samples as counterfeit drugs with information on the label similar to the information on suspected counterfeit products. .

This product model was purchased by Novartis Group’s global security and anti-counterfeiting department on March 9, 2022 through a Facebook social network account named “Chi Pipi” (https://facebook.com/ tuixach.thoitrang.334).

To ensure the safety of consumers, the Drug Administration of Vietnam recommends that the Departments of Health of the provinces, cities and branches of health inform drug-using and trading establishments about the characteristics and distinguishing signs of aged products. and drugs imported by Novartis Vietnam.
