Although these things sometimes come from love and desire for their children to be more positive and progressive, they lead to bad things.

Not only with children, Mr. Nam also pointed out that for adults, mental abuse is also very large.

“For example, a husband and wife who are constantly checking their messages, or eating and complimenting their neighbors for being handsome can also cause inhibition. In addition, going home without a husband or wife saying anything, such as the saying “The most afraid of workers and farmers when going out, coming home is most afraid of the wife not saying anything”, can also be considered as domestic violence”, Nam stated. idea.

According to the Hau Giang delegation, behaviors that affect and affect the spirit also need attention. It is suggested that the drafting committee pay attention and research to supplement regulations on domestic violence acts that damage mental health, thereby controlling and adjusting all this dangerous behavior.

Forcing children to study is also an act of mental violence

Commenting on the draft Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence (amended), delegate Nguyen Thi Mai Thoa (Hai Duong delegation) said that preventing violence and child abuse in the family environment is extremely important. , directly related to the formation and development of children’s personality in the future as well as building cultural and non-violent families in the future.

According to delegate Thoa, children, within the scope of the bill, are one of the weakest and victims of violence, with specific characteristics such as: Not yet fully developed, dependent, and capable of self-reliance. protection and awareness about domestic violence is still limited, weaker than other vulnerable groups in the family including women, the elderly, the disabled… Therefore, children need to be identified as subjects. peculiar to have a separate principle; as well as having a separate system of regulations throughout the draft Law.

“I would like to talk more about the behavior of forcing children to study. Parents who force their children to study too much or insult and scold their children when they do not perform as expected can be listed as cases of mental violence. Because from the pressures of parents, the parents’ expectations are too high, which will lead to psychological stress, causing pressure on children, gradually accumulating. That can be the cause of mental and psychological diseases such as depression or aggressive and suicidal behaviors,” said delegate Thoa.

The Hai Duong delegation said that forcing children to study is also one of the manifestations of achievement disease in education. This is a problem in society, eroding the basic principles of education and causing lasting harm to society.

Currently, the education sector is trying to gradually solve this problem in a fundamental and methodical way at schools. But to solve it completely, in addition to schools, it also needs the cooperation of families and the whole society.

Therefore, it is very necessary to regulate the behavior of forcing children to study as one of the acts of domestic violence, which will contribute to the prevention and handling, leading to the eradication of achievement disease in the family environment.
