Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien is the Chairman of MobiFone, replacing Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang to move to VNPT

Chairman of the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh signed and promulgated the decision to appoint and appoint Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien, Director of the Department of Technology and Infrastructure, Committee for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises. holds the position of Chairman of the Members’ Council of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation. This decision takes effect from June 1.

Thus, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien will replace Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang to hold the position of Chairman of MobiFone’s Members’ Council, responsible and representative for the management of State capital at this enterprise.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien was born in 1974, experienced many positions in state agencies and enterprises. In which, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien used to work at the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) and the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises.

Previously, in August 2017, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang – Member of the Board of Directors of VNPT Group was transferred and appointed as Chairman of the Members’ Council of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation instead of Mr. Le Nam Tra. Thus, with this decision of the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang returned to the position 5 years ago.

The position of Chairman of MobiFone is considered a “hot seat” for Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien. MobiFone has had a brilliant period when it was at the forefront of mobile networks in Vietnam. For many years, MobiFone has been voted as the best mobile network with the best quality and customer care. MobiFone is also considered as a professional and effective network operator.

However, after the events, MobiFone has lost its pioneer position in the mobile market. Thus, the responsibility of bringing MobiFone to the top position in the mobile market rests on Mr. Nguyen Hong Hien’s shoulders. Mr. Hien holds the position of “captain” of MobiFone in the context that traditional telecommunications services are in decline and operators have to find new land to make new development space for themselves. Traditional telecommunications service providers have announced their transition to becoming digital service providers targeting individual, corporate and government customers.
