Channels HBO of America finally brought to light a documentary titled Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes (rough translation: Chernobyl: Lost tapes). The film tells the never-before-seen stories of the Chernobyl disaster, the most tragic nuclear disaster of all time.

According to the news site LiveScience, the trailer for the film, shared by HBO on YouTube, provides a glimpse into what happened in Ukraine (then part of the Soviet Union) after the horrific disaster that took place on the 26th- April 1986 in the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl, about 130km north of the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

In these tapes, eyewitness testimony shows a glimpse of life in Chernobyl before the disaster and how it was forever transformed after the accident.

“Everything was recorded,” one of the witnesses said in the trailer. However, many details of the explosion and its potential danger have been hidden for a long time, HBO said in a statement.

Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes premiered on June 22 on HBO at 11 a.m. (Vietnam time) and streamed on HBO Max.
