WHO has not received a specific report on the COVID-19 epidemic in North Korea

According to WHO Regional Director for Southeast Asia, Dr Poonam Singh: “Given that North Korea has yet to launch a COVID-19 vaccination program, there is a risk that the virus can spread rapidly in the community unless it is properly controlled. contain it by appropriate and immediate measures”.

In addition, WHO said it has not yet received a specific report on the outbreak in North Korea from the authorities.

Meanwhile, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has instructed the country’s military to stabilize the distribution of drugs to treat COVID-19 symptoms in the capital. He also asked pharmacies to operate 24 hours a day to ensure that people can buy medicine at any time.

KCNA also said that, as of last night, North Korea recorded more than 1.4 million cases of fever symptoms and 56 deaths.
