Digiworld’s President and CEO changed places

On March 15, the Board of Directors of Digital World Joint Stock Company (Digiworld) issued a resolution on changing personnel.

Accordingly, Ms. Dang Kien Phuong ceased to be the President to become the General Director, and at the same time, Mr. Doan Hong Viet quit as the General Director to become the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the term 2021-2025.

On April 6, Digiworld will hold its 2022 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in Ho Chi Minh City. Digiworld will present to shareholders a revenue plan of VND 26,300 billion and profit after tax of VND 800 billion, increasing by 25% and 21.6% compared to 2021.

Digiworld will issue shares from owner’s equity at the rate of 80%, and pay cash dividends at the rate of 1,000 VND/share. In addition, the company plans to issue preference shares to employees at the price of 10,000 VND/share, up to 2.5% of the total number of outstanding shares. This price is much lower than the market price of Digiworld on the stock exchange, which is more than 110,000 VND/share.

In 2021, Digiworld achieved revenue of VND 20,971 billion and profit after tax of VND 658 billion, both increasing sharply compared to 2020. The company said that the laptop segment grew by 82%, reaching VND 7,900 billion thanks to demand. Working and studying from home has increased due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the revenue contribution from Apple and Huawei products, thereby reinforcing its leading position in this industry.

The mobile phone business earned VND 9,857 billion in revenue, growing thanks to Xiaomi’s market share and revenue from distribution of Apple’s iPhone product lines.

Revenue from office equipment segment grew by 85% to VND2,840 billion thanks to the addition of many new brands during the year. In addition, IoTs products such as Home Appliance, Smart watch from Xiaomi, Huawei and Apple are increasingly popular, and companies also launch many new models to meet many different segments.

Consumer goods contributed VND 367 billion in revenue, completing only 75% of the plan.

From the third quarter of 2021, Digiworld has started distributing Covid-19 anti-epidemic products such as antigen test trays, anti-epidemic suits (gloves, masks, drop shields…). In the context that health becomes a top concern and Vietnam accepts to live with the epidemic in the new normal trend, Digiworld expects anti-epidemic products to still have a lot of room for growth in the near future.
