But few people know, behind that golden wedding is a troubled love story. Thao Le and Jimmy Truong, before holding a wedding ceremony with the sincere blessings of both families, had spent 2 years of turbulent love, with fierce prohibitions from the girl’s family.

Jimmy Truong and his family settled in the US. During a visit to Vietnam, he happened to meet Thao Le at a restaurant. When he first met, he had a special affection for a girl with a strong personality, a little more arrogant, so he tried to ask for a phone number to get acquainted. It didn’t take long for Thao Le to affirm her feelings for the American overseas Vietnamese.

The couple’s love story was strongly opposed by Thao Le’s family. “The reason is very simple, not because he is rich or poor, ugly or beautiful, but just because he has tattoos. Moreover, he is an overseas Vietnamese, his family is not in Vietnam, so we think it is difficult to find out in detail. Thao Le shared.

The couple has 2 years of difficult love

Thao Le and Jimmy Truong fell in love during the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic. Jimmy Truong decided to stay in Vietnam to live and work because he was afraid that if he returned to the US, he would not have the opportunity to see his girlfriend again.

Despite the social distancing order, Thao Le still hid her family to meet her boyfriend. She felt herself responsible for the man who left her family for her sake, giving up her life and work in the US. When Thao Le’s family saw that, they had a bad impression of Jimmy Truong, by all means preventing their love.

“My family forced me to choose between relatives and a boyfriend. The eldest sister is the most violently forbidden. I was rejected by my sister and family for a year. However, I am determined not to give up on either side, trying to prove to my family that our feelings are genuine.” Thao Le shared.

Thao Le and Jimmy Truong were compensated by their families for everything in their engagement. The bride’s family gave the young couple 60 gold trees, of which the eldest sister – who had stopped the most violent couple – gave 50 gold trees. The groom’s family gave the couple 40 gold trees and a pair of diamond earrings worth 4 billion VND.

“For me, he is ready to sacrifice his career to build many years in the US. For fear of losing himself, he accepted to leave his family and stayed in Vietnam for 2 years. When Vietnam opened the flight door, he returned to the US for 3 months and then came back and proposed to him. He is an emotional person, loves his family, cares for others in the smallest details. I love you because you have a good heart, willing to give up your career and money for me, ” Thao Le shared.
