Flight data showed that after taking off from Kunming Airport, the plane flew at an altitude of about 8869 meters. More than an hour after taking off, at 2:19 pm, the plane suddenly plunged at an altitude of nearly 9,000 meters.
Just 2 minutes and 15 seconds later, the data showed it had dropped to more than 2,700 meters. Over the next 20 seconds, the final altitude recorded was nearly 1,000 meters. At 2:21, flight MU5735 lost radar signal and lost contact with the ground.
It was reported that the plane was “totally broken up” and a fire broke out shortly after. The forest fire is now under control.

The plane carried 132 people, including 123 passengers and 9 crew members.
