Ever since he was a student at the Faculty of Forestry and Fisheries (Hong Duc University – Thanh Hoa), Tuan had “nurtured” his ideas and began to explore. Therefore, in 2016, he borrowed hundreds of millions of dong to buy equipment, utensils, laboratories, and standard farming rooms.

Although he prepared very carefully, but many times he failed. The most memorable thing is that in 2018, he broke thousands of products and lost more than 200 million VND. During 4 years of research and failure, Tuan also learned many lessons from experience. In addition to the breed factor, environmental factors also determine the success or failure of the product.

This time, he borrowed another 500 million VND to buy necessary machines such as embryo shakers, install more air conditioners and redo all culture rooms.

“Cordyceps mushrooms must be cultured in a clean space, with the right humidity and temperature. In a hot climate, the unstable temperature will spoil everything. Therefore, my culture rooms have to be equipped with air conditioners, operating 24/24 hours, “said Tuan.

Since then (at the end of 2019), Tuan has achieved certain successes. His standard breeding room has a production scale of up to 30,000 bottles, he is continuing to work on another room.

Cordyceps preparing to harvest

With this cordyceps mushroom, he owns 6 OCOP products such as: fresh cordyceps, dried cordyceps, cordyceps wine, cordyceps bird’s nest, cordyceps honey Tuan’s cordyceps products have a trade name of “Dang Khoa”, launched and accepted by the market at a much cheaper price than imported products and some places in the country.

In the near future, he will launch two other products: Cordyceps capsules and Cordyceps tea bags.

In 2020, Tuan’s cordyceps production facility brought in more than 1 billion VND in revenue. In addition to his family’s product display stall, he now has more than 30 distribution agents selling products across the country. Tuan’s establishment creates jobs for 10 local workers, with an income of 5-7 million VND/month.
