The opening ceremony of the National Year of Tourism – Quang Nam 2022 took place on the evening of March 26, on Hoi An Memories Island, with about 3,000 guests.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that this was one of the important events marking the opening of tourism. “We hope that the series of tourism events this year will be an important lever and opportunity for the tourism industry to accelerate and make breakthroughs to realize the goal of attracting domestic and foreign tourists,” said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. .

According to the Prime Minister, the pandemic has changed the social structure and habits of the people, but has also created new trends in tourism. In addition, as world tourism recovers, Vietnam faces the challenge of intense competition between countries and global destinations.

“This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to become the preferred tourist destination, with an interesting experience,” said the Prime Minister, stressing that to do this, Vietnam needs to be consistent with the sustainability values ​​that have been built up over the years. and firmly established in the hearts of international tourists. “This is a message of peace, cooperation for development, Vietnam – a safe and friendly country”.

The National Tourism Year is a national-scale distinctive cultural, economic, social and tourism event, the largest annual tourism event of Vietnam’s tourism industry. This is an opportunity to introduce and promote Vietnam’s unique image, cultural values, resources and tourism products; at the same time strongly encourage the relationship of tourism development between regions.

Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of Quang Nam province, said that together with the rest of the country, the region aspires to restore and develop tourism activities. “Green tourism will become an indispensable tourism trend chosen by mankind, because it increases people’s respect for nature, preserves cultural identity, protects the ecological environment and restores the natural environment, restoring biodiversity,” he said.

The provincial leader of Quang Nam said that the national tourism for 2022 was themed “Quang Nam – A green tourism destination” to convey a message to friends and tourists everywhere about Quang Nam taking advantage of the world. as a mainstay.

“Blue is the color of hope. We have the right to hope and believe that 2022 will be a successful start year for a period of recovery and strong development for Vietnam,” Thanh said.

At the ceremony, delegates and visitors enjoyed an art program with the theme Quang Nam – a Green Tourism Destination with three acts lasting nearly two hours, with the participation of more than 600 actors. Where, Chapter 1 is titled “Endless Beauty”, Chapter 2 is “In the Inheritance Domain”, and Chapter 3 is titled “Integrating – Shining”.

The National Year of Tourism – Quang Nam 2022 has 192 events and activities, 10 of which are national level activities organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, central ministries, departments and agencies. Quang Nam leads the organization of a series of 62 events, operating under 6 programs throughout 2022 and 120 events and activities organized by 40 provinces and cities which are centrally managed. The province expects to welcome 4.2 million visitors, with a revenue of 6,000 billion VND.
