Lions fumbling to hunt geese

Conservation officer Jem Harris recorded this footage at Dulini Private Reserve in Greater Kruger National Park.

In the video, the lion cubs follow the geese’s every move. At first they seemed shy because the depth of the lagoon was unknown.

The two lions then pounced on their prey, but the geese quickly dived into the water to hide.

Another lion nearby continued to track the geese swimming in the water and planned an attack.

He walked around the lagoon, observing the slight ripples in the water that the geese made.

Once the target is identified, it plunges straight into the water, successfully grabbing the goose before grabbing its prey and pulling it ashore.

After a successful hunt, the lion brings the prey to the adult lions to “report achievements”. Another lion in the pack patted the cub’s back, apparently in appreciation.

“Lions aren’t too fond of water. They can swim but aren’t overly interested in getting in the water. But of course, when it comes to food, they don’t mind getting their feet literally dirty.”Latest Sightings – a Youtube channel specializing in posting videos about wildlife in Africa.

“At first, the lions were curious about the strange creatures floating on the water. When they soon realized that this could be a nutritious snack, they set out to hunt.”Latest Sightings comment.
