A university ranked 360 in the world and number 1 in Vietnam in the field of Engineering and Technology
The UK Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has just announced the world university rankings by subject group 2022 (QS World Ranking by subjects 2022). Hanoi University of Science and Technology has 5 ranked groups including: Electrical – Electronic Engineering; Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering; Computer Science and Information Systems; Math; Materials science.
According to the ranking, the group of Electrical – Electronic Engineering and the group of Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering of Hanoi Polytechnic have increased 100 places and are ranked in the group of 301-350 best in the world.
With the group of Computer Science and Information Systems, Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranks in the group of 401-450 in the world, up 150 places compared to last year.
After two years of appearing in the rankings, this is the first year that the Mathematics group of Hanoi Polytechnic has reached No. 1 in Vietnam and 351-400 in the world.
The Materials Science group of Hanoi University of Science and Technology has been ranked for the first time but has taken the highest position among universities in Vietnam. This year’s Materials Science group is in the 401-410 group in the world.
In particular, the field of Engineering and Technology of Hanoi Polytechnic is the field of strength of the university appearing in the list at position 360 in the world and No. 1 in Vietnam.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject utilizes four metrics including academic reputation; the university’s reputation as assessed by employers; The average number of citations per paper and the H-index measures scientific research productivity and the impact of publications. For field ratings, QS additionally uses an IRN (International Research Network) index that measures the effectiveness of research collaborations with international partners.
QS World University Rankings 2022 evaluates 51 industry groups in 5 areas including Arts and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Management.
QS is one of the three most prestigious university ranking organizations today, next to Times Higher Education (UK) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (China).
Previously, Hanoi University of Science and Technology was also in the group of 281-290 of the best universities in Asia according to the QS Asia 2022 rankings, up 20 places compared to the previous year.
