Djokovic reappears at Monte-Carlo Masters 2022

More than a month after stopping in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships, Djokovic will return to the Monte-Carlo Masters 2022, the warm-up tournament for the 2022 clay-court tennis season.

Due to not being vaccinated against COVID-19, Novak Djokovic has missed many tournaments in 2022. Most recently, he was unable to enter the US to attend 2 Masters 1000 tournaments, the Indian Wells Masters and the Miami Open. The only tournament Nole attended was the Dubai Tennis Championships, where he ended up in the quarterfinals.

However, Novak Djokovic’s participation in the upcoming Monte Carlo 2022 is certain, because from mid-March, the French Government lifted restrictions on the regulation of vaccination against COVID-19. In addition to Monte Carlo, Nole is automatically eligible to attend Roland Garros taking place in France from May 30 to June 13.

Besides, Djokovic is sure to compete in the tournament in his hometown of the Serbia Open (April 18). The star born in 1987 is also waiting for Spain and Italy to relax regulations on Covid-19 to attend the Madrid Masters (April 26) and Rome Masters (May 2).

Recently, football fans have passed on a video of Djokovic’s practice in Monte Carlo. Fans are eagerly waiting for the re-appearance of the world No. 1 player. Before that, he had only played 3 matches this year and had been out of action for nearly 2 months.

In Monte Carlo, Djokovic will be ranked No. 1. He will compete with the top players of the Next Gen generation such as Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev and Rafael Nadal are both unable to attend and injured.

The Monte Carlo Masters 2022 will officially kick off on April 11 at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Monaco.
