Bayern’s championship streak set a record in Europe’s top five leagues, surpassing Juventus’ dominance in the 2012-2020 period. The closest team to prevent Bayern from being crowned is also Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund in the 2011-2012 season.

Thomas Muller also became the first player in history to win the Bundesliga Silver Disc 11 times. The 32-year-old striker has created the most goals this season, with 17 passes for teammates to score. And Lewandowski won the tournament for the 10th time, and is the most foreign player to win the German championship. The Polish striker is also full of opportunities to win the Bundesliga top scorer and the European Golden Shoe with 33 goals this season.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann also won the German championship for the first time, at the age of 34. But he is only the second youngest coach in history to do this, after Matthias Sammer with Dortmund in 2002.

Bayern’s championship ability has never been questioned, the problem is that they ascend to the throne sooner or later. The owner of the Allianz Arena entered the classic German match with six consecutive victories against Dortmund. And they also took the lead in the 15th minute thanks to Gnabry’s work. From the corner of Joshua Kimmich on the right, Leon Goretzka’s header is wide open to Gnabry. The former Arsenal striker caught a beat and then stroked the ball from the edge of the penalty area, causing goalkeeper Marwin Hitz to stand still and watch the ball fly into the net.

This goal extends Bayern’s streak of 78 goals in the Bundesliga, and of course this is a record in Germany. Bayern is still stronger than Dortmund and Lewandowski always knows how to score against the old team. In the 34th minute, midfielder Dan-Axel Zagadou failed to pass at home, allowing Muller to poke a gap for Lewandowski to sink to the near corner to raise the score to 2-0. This is the 23rd goal of the Polish striker against the old team Dortmund in the tournament.

Dortmund played better than the hosts in the second half, and they regained a goal from the penalty spot. Kimmich fouled from behind Marco Reus and missed the referee. On the 11m mark, Can shot to the opposite corner of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

But that’s all Dortmund can do. In the 83rd minute, midfielder Jamie Bynoe-Gitten broke the ball right inside the away team’s penalty area, letting Musiala buffer into an empty net from close range, setting a 3-1 victory for the home team.

Bayern finished the season with two titles, the Bundesliga and the German Super Cup. They were eliminated in the second round of the German Cup, and in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Nagelsmann’s teachers and students can still strive to reach the 100-goal mark in the Bundesliga. And Dortmund lost but still guaranteed a place in the Champions League next season.
