Driver fined for car’s shadow
Specifically, at the end of March, Cole seriously parked his car outside the post office. However, a while later he was fined 85 USD for violating parking rules.
The document indicated that his car was parked in a space for the disabled. But, according to the car owner, this is a mistake.

After receiving a cold penalty notice, Cole is trying to prove that the traffic camera mistook the shadow cast by his car in the handicapped parking space for the size of his car.
“It’s absurd. There was no sign where I parked my car and the photos they sent me just showed the shadow of my car in the handicapped parking space,” Cole said.
Cole later wrote back to the police force to protest the fine, but the police kept the punishment.
In a statement, police said Cole was fined “for parking in a disabled area, which is marked with a handicap-only sign”.
“If I’ve parked there a few times before and didn’t get fined, I shouldn’t be at fault now either,” Cole adds.
“If it’s a handicapped parking lot, why isn’t there any sign around. It is completely wrong. They are executing something that is not real. I think $85 isn’t a lot, but in principle it’s wrong,” explains Cole.
