When they asked the operator of a private ambulance parked at the hospital premises, they asked the family to pay Rs 10,000 (nearly 3 million VND) to transport his son’s body to his hometown in Rajampet, about 90 kilometers from Tirupati. .

However, the Jesava family was very difficult, did not have such a large amount of money to pay. The boy’s father tried to beg the private ambulance team, but they ignored it and insisted on enough money to bring the boy’s body home.

After that, relatives in Jesava’s family contributed money to rent an ambulance outside to bring the boy’s body back to his hometown, but the other group of private car operators rushed out to block the car, not allowing the body to be taken away. The group said that this area is their own operating area, other car companies are not allowed to enter, where patients have to use the service there.

The whole incident was recorded by a resident at the hospital using a mobile phone and shared on social media. Immediately, Indian netizens spoke out condemning the situation of “ambulance mafia” in local hospitals, oppressing the poor too much.

Relating to this incident, after learning about the story, former Indian Minister N Chandrababu Naidu shared a long status line online.

“My heart sank when I saw the body of young Jesava, who passed away at SVRR hospital. His father called an ambulance from the authorities but they did not come, so he had to carry the child’s body on the road. 90km journey home. This tragedy reflects the deteriorating state of health services in India.” India Times quoted the post shared by Mr. Naidu.
