April 28 is World Health and Safety Day at Work. This is the day the world comes together to promote and highlight the importance of safety and health in the workplace and to remember the colleagues who died from occupational accidents and diseases during the year.

In Canada, for example, employer and employee representatives work together to develop a COVID-19 response plan, screening, and tracing process.

In South Africa, employers, workers and governments are working together to take countermeasures to reduce the spread of the virus in the workplace.

In Vietnam, during the COVID-19 epidemic, the electronics industry had a dialogue with stakeholders to design measures to control the spread of the virus in factories.

Studies show that when workers are involved in promoting safety and health in the workplace, the risk of occupational accidents is significantly reduced. Specifically, the accident rate decreased by 64% and the hospital admission rate decreased by 58% with the cooperation of workers.
