Sony introduces a series of new technologies on the Bravia XR 2022 TV

The Japanese electronics company has upgraded many technologies in new TV models such as using Cognitive Processor XR, integrating Google TV for the first time, increasing recycled materials…

On April 27, Sony launched four TV models including: X95K 4K Mini LED, A90K, A80K 4K OLED, X90K 4K Full Array LED.

In particular, its key technology is the Cognitive Processor XR cognitive processor, providing an optimal experience regardless of backlight technology. XR is a technology first introduced in 2021 with the ability to reproduce content the way people hear and see realistically to animate images and sounds on electronic devices.

Director of advertising and product strategy of TV Electronic Vietnam, Mr. Jun Kawaue introduced, on this year’s models, the company has many improvements to bring the ability to identify and reproduce more accurate details. All Bravia TVs released this year from the X80K series and above are Perfect for PlayStation standards, including two PS5-exclusive features, Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Another highlight is the XR Blacklight Master with a local dimming algorithm that precisely controls thousands of high-density micro LED mini bulbs. Combining this series of technologies, images achieve greater depth, contrast, impressive dynamic range and more vibrant colors. Along with that, the sound output is accurate with the image movement thanks to Acoustic Surface Audio or Multi Audio technology.

For the first time, the company has integrated Google TV for all product ranges, providing a rich content store with more than 700,000 movies and programs… This operating system also helps create a seamless entertainment experience in the ecosystem. This accessory received the CES 2022 award thanks to useful features such as optimizing the surrounding environment, recognizing the viewer’s position to adjust the best picture and sound; manually adjust the TV; video chat… The device can recognize the user is no longer in front of the TV and reduce the brightness to save power.

The Japanese electronics company also strengthens cooperation with many units to open up a more complete entertainment method. For example, Sony TVs can watch content on Netflix with accurate color and contrast in many bright conditions. Combining the Bravia XR TV and the Play Station 5 game console will give a different gaming experience: the TV automatically adjusts and optimizes screen parameters to avoid lag, increasing the likelihood of winning.

During the event, the company also displayed a variety of audio equipment that enhances the auditory effect when combined with a TV. Typically the home theater system HT-A9 or HT-A7000, HT-A5000. The product has the ability to create multiple virtual speakers to deliver a cinematic sound field, in sync with the image on the screen.

Continuing its commitment to sustainable development, this year, Sony uses Sorplas material on a number of product lines. This 99% recycled plastic reduces the use of new plastic by up to 60%. The packaging size of the TV is reduced by about 15% and about 90% of the ink, 35% of the plastic.

This year, the group continues to introduce the Walkman model towards the high-end segment. More than 40 years ago, the Walkman was one of the icons of the music-loving generation. Three years ago, Sony first brought this brand back with the launch of a new version.
