Will join the case with the Ho Chi Minh City Police
On May 6, at a press conference on the economic and social situation organized by the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province, Colonel Tran Van Chinh – Deputy Director, Head of the Binh Duong Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced Nguyen Phuong Hang (53 years old) on the crime of “abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals”.
Accordingly, Colonel Chinh said that the Binh Duong Provincial Police Investigation Agency had accepted a total of 7 individuals’ petitions denouncing Ms. Hang. Besides, this unit also collected 53 broadcasts and livestreams of Ms. Hang to serve the investigation.
Regarding Ms. Hang’s crime, which was prosecuted by Binh Duong Provincial Police with the same crime that Ho Chi Minh City Police had prosecuted before, Colonel Chinh said that this agency had reported to the Ministry of Public Security about the case. and will transfer the case to the Ho Chi Minh City Police for further investigation.

According to Colonel Chinh, considering that Ms. Hang’s actions have signs of constituting the crime of “abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals”, specified in Clause 2, Article 331 of the Penal Code. Therefore, from April 6, 2022, Binh Duong Provincial Police’s investigative agency in collaboration with the Procuracy agreed to prosecute the case to investigate and handle.

However, before the Binh Duong Provincial Police prosecuted this case, the Ho Chi Minh City Police also prosecuted the case, prosecuted the accused and detained Ms. Phuong Hang for investigation on the same crime.
Therefore, Binh Duong Provincial Police had a written exchange with the Ho Chi Minh City Police about entering the case, for the Ho Chi Minh City Police to investigate.
