In 2021, Vietnam holds the 59th position in the ranking of the best country in education, according to US News and World Report (USA).
Best Countries for Education Ranking 2021 (Best Countries for Education) US News and World Report published at the end of April, based on a global survey of three criteria: Having a well-developed public education system; do people consider going to university in the country; whether the country offers a top education.
With the 59th position, Vietnam increased by 5 places compared to 2020. The Ministry of Education and Training assessed that the one being recognized and ranked by an international organization is a positive change for Vietnam’s education industry.

In Southeast Asia, five countries have higher rankings than Vietnam, including Singapore (21st), Malaysia (38th), Thailand (46th), Indonesia (54th), Philippines (55th). Cambodia is in 75th place, Myanmar is 76th, and Laos, Brunei and Timor Leste are not present.
The first five positions are the US, UK, Germany, Canada and France respectively. Only Germany and Canada ranked each other, the remaining three positions remained the same as 2020. Japan is the Asian country holding the highest rank – 7, up four places from last year, then South Korea – 19th rank.

The 78 countries of the Best Countries must be in the top 100-150 of four lists related to: Gross Domestic Product (GDP); Foreign investment capital; International tourism revenue; United Nations Human Development Index. Data were surveyed in 2018 and 2019, taken from a World Bank report.
To rank the countries in the table Best Coutries, US News Scoring is based on 76 attributes, divided into groups with different score ratios. In the list of Best Countries 2021, Vietnam ranks 40th, behind three Southeast Asian countries, Singapore (14), Thailand (28) and Malaysia (38).
