Around 6:00 a.m., many people living in a motel on 6th Street, Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward, saw the door of Mr. Luong Van Kien’s family room, 45 years old, closed, called many times, no one answered. Suspecting an abnormality, they broke the door and discovered Mr. Kien and his wife (44 years old) lying on the floor, two daughters and two boys (23-16 years old) unconscious on the mezzanine.
People and functional forces took the victim to an emergency, but Mr. Kien and his wife and son died at the hospital; The daughter is being treated at Cho Ray Hospital.
Living in the same apartment block, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, 61, said Mr. Kien and his wife often steamed fish in the evening and sold it the next morning at Tan Dinh market, District 1. Last night, the whole family slept since around 22 o’clock. “This family lives in harmony,” said Mr. Cuong.
Kien and his wife are from Ninh Thuan and have lived in this motel for about 5 years.
This afternoon, Thu Duc City police and professional units examined the scene and investigated the cause. According to police, the cause could be asphyxiation.
