Revealed to the agent, the suspect who tried to assassinate the former US president was caught

The information was released by the US Department of Justice and identified the person arrested as Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab, an Iraqi citizen in Columbus, Ohio.

“Suspect Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab is accused of aiding and abetting a plot to assassinate a government official and bring foreign nationals to the United States illegally” – according to the report. CNN.

Shihab is said to have planned to bring four Iraqi nationals into the US as part of an assassination plot. Court documents show that he drove to the area where former President George W. Bush in Dallas to spy.

The FBI discovered Shihab’s plot thanks to undercover agents. They recorded discussions of Shihab’s assassination plot in late 2021 and early 2022.

Shihab Ahmed Shihab Shihab entered the US from September 2020. During a trip from Columbus to the Detroit area and back in November 2021, he told undercover agents that he “wanted to kill former President Bush”. Bush was “responsible for the deaths of many Iraqis and for the division of the entire country of Iraq”.

An audio recording of a conversation earlier this year is listed in court documents, where Shihab describes himself as a “soldier awaiting instructions from the leadership in Qatar”. He also identifies himself as a member of a group called “Al-Raed” or “Thunderstorm”.

“Shihab told an undercover FBI agent that the Al-Raed group was not related to the Islamic State (IS) organization, but he hoped IS would cooperate in the assassination of Mr. Bush.” CNN said.

Shihab is believed to have been driving to former President Bush’s Dallas residence in February. He is alleged to have videotaped the entrance to the property and the surrounding area.

Shihab also attended the George W. Bush Institute on the campus of Southern Methodist University. Court documents say Shibab videotaped the institute’s library and office space.
