Sheep sentenced to 3 years in prison for attacking neighbor to death

South Sudanese police arrest a sheep after it attacked a 45-year-old woman, killing her. Adhieu Chaping is an unfortunate woman who died from a sheep attack in an incident in Rumbek East, South Sudan.

Elijah Mabor, regional police officer said: “The ram attacked the woman by stabbing her in the ribs, causing the victim to die at the scene. The ram was arrested and detained at the police station.”

A police spokesman said the ram caused the woman’s death and should be arrested and awaiting trial.

Recently, the local court has come to the conclusion that the sheep guilty of the crime will be sentenced to 3 years in prison. He will live in a military camp in Aduel, Lakes, Sudan for the next 3 years.

The owner of the sanctioned sheep, Duony Manyang Dhal, will have to compensate the victim’s family with 5 cows. It is known that the owner of the sheep and the victim’s family are both relatives and neighbors.

Law in Lakes, Sudan states that any pet that kills a person must pay compensation to the victim’s family and the animal must be tried.

After the sheep returns from prison, it will be returned to the family in accordance with local law.

Although the cause of death is rather odd, Adhieu Chaping is not the first person to fall victim to a ram.

Last year, a woman in the US died after being attacked by sheep on a farm. Kim Taylor was volunteering on a ranch in Bolton, Massachusetts, when she was attacked by a sheep. The 73-year-old woman was seriously injured and died on her way to the hospital.

Area police said the 73-year-old Wellesley woman was tending livestock alone in a barn when a sheep lunged at her and repeatedly rammed her. This resulted in Taylor being seriously injured, even though she was taken to the emergency room, but things took a turn for the worse soon after.

Taylor’s daughter said she is an animal lover, spending a lot of time in volunteer activities related to animal care and conservation. With over 30 years of experience as a nurse, she has helped many farms and wildlife sanctuaries.
