This is the terrible parameter “brain” of the iPhone 14 Pro-Hi-tech Fashion

The ShrimpApplePro Twitter account posted a thread regarding the different chip versions that Apple will launch this year.

The most notable name on this list is the A16 Bionic, the chip platform that operates on iPhone 14″ Pro and Apple’s upcoming 14 Pro Max. This is a chip manufactured on TSMC’s 5nm process, which means Apple won’t make the jump to 4nm – a manufacturing process that rivals already use.

Even so, the A16 Bionic will offer better CPU and GPU speeds, plus the ability to support high-end LPDDR5 RAM. Note that the ability to support LPDDR5 RAM allows Apple to implement the fastest possible RAM on the upcoming high-end iPhones. Currently, all iPhone 13 models come with LPDDR4X RAM – which is expected to also be standard on the cheaper iPhone 14 and 14 Max.

At the moment, ShrimpApplePro hasn’t shared any benchmarks of the A16 Bionic, so it’s unclear how the new enhancements will help Apple’s high-end chip make a difference to the A15 Bionic.

Also in his tweet, ShrimpApplePro mentioned the next generation M-series chip. Accordingly, M2 will be a 3nm chip and can use a custom ARMv9 chip. The source of the leak also mentions that the current M1 chip successor SoC will use new generation Avalanche (high performance) and Blizzard (energy saving) cores.

One detail to remember, the A16 Bionic powering the iPhone 14 Pro will be announced ahead of any new M-series chips. Apple could launch a new iPhone in September, while a new Mac launch event could take place in October.
