The number of fever cases plummeted, North Korea eased the blockade order?

According to regional media, from May 29, travel restrictions were lifted in the capital Pyongyang.

The information came shortly after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un chaired a meeting of the Politburo to discuss updating epidemic prevention measures. The North Korean leadership assessed the situation of the first COVID-19 outbreak in the country as “gradually stabilizing”.

“The Politburo considered coordinating to effectively and quickly implement the regulations and instructions on epidemic prevention in the context of the stabilizing situation,” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Tuesday. /5.

In the 24 hours to Sunday evening, North Korea recorded an additional 100,710 people with fever symptoms (a sharp decrease from 390,000 cases two weeks ago), and one more death.

North Korea has not confirmed the total number of positive for SARS-CoV-2, apparently because of a lack of supply of testing equipment. Experts say the published figures may be lower than the reality, and it is difficult to assess the actual scale of this outbreak.

The total number of fever cases reported since the end of April in North Korea has reached more than 3.55 million, of which more than 3.36 million have recovered and at least 188,530 are being treated. The death toll is 70 people.
