Robot searches for super algae to fight climate change

Scientists at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, are using robot to find super algae and put them into materials like fabrics and bioplastics that people use every day to absorb CO2 in the air. It is known that this tiny plant can remove CO2 from the atmosphere 40 times more effectively than trees.

When they find super algae, scientists will grow it in bioreactors, to multiply in numbers. Scientists estimate that we have 10 years left to eliminate CO2 from all industries in order to keep the Earth’s temperature at just 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial times, thereby avoiding catastrophic disasters. irreversible damage caused by climate change.

Currently, CO2 in the atmosphere is at its highest level in more than 3 million years. Professor Peter Ralph from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia said that CO2-absorbing products made from this algae can be attached to walls, carpets, all structures that can absorb CO2 from the atmosphere in many decade.

With this algae, in the future, we will not only have to rely on forests to absorb CO2 anymore.
