At the age of 66, Bill Gates wishes he had realized these things earlier in his career as well as in life.

Bill Gates is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world, but the Microsoft founder still regrets a few things when looking back on his life.

Don’t use technology in charity work sooner

Bill Gates seems to have spent his life doing charity work and using technology to help the poor around the world. However, he still wishes he could do more.

“I spend a lot of time thinking about how technology can help the poorest people in the world improve their lives. That’s been a big focus since before me and Melinda (his ex-wife) started the foundation. Looking back on the whole process, I realize that I could have started this path sooner,” Bill Gates shared in a blog post.

Do not learn other languages

Another regret for the Microsoft founder is not learning more foreign languages.

“I feel pretty stupid that I don’t know any foreign languages,” Bill Gates said in a Reddit chat in 2015.

“I got an A in Latin and Greek in high school. I thought it would help my vocabulary but I wish I knew more French, Arabic or Chinese. I hope I do. I’ve had time to learn one of these languages, probably French because it’s the easiest. I’ve been using the language learning app Duolingo for a while but still can’t keep up.”

“Mark Zuckerberg has learned Chinese very well, he can even communicate with Chinese students. That’s amazing,” Bill Gates shared.

Stay up late reading books

While Bill Gates’ passion for books is a positive thing, he wished he didn’t have the habit of staying up late reading books.

“I read a lot at night and the biggest problem is staying up late because the next day I don’t get as much sleep as I would like.”
