Accordingly, 6 defendants were prosecuted, including: Le Tung Van (SN 1932, self-proclaimed “grandfather teacher”), Le Thanh Hoan Nguyen (SN 1990), Le Thanh Nhat Nguyen (SN 1991), Le Thanh Trung Duong (SN 1995), Cao Thi Cuc (SN 1960) and Le Thanh Nhi Nguyen (SN 1998).

According to the indictment, in 2014, Ms. Cao Thi Cuc from Can Duoc district, Long An province went to Lap Thanh hamlet, Hoa Khanh Tay commune to buy a house and move her household registration here to build and repair as an illegal religious site.

In 2015, Mr. Le Tung Van sold his house in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City and then moved with Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen, Trung Duong, Le Thu Van, Nhi Nguyen and some others to live in Mrs. Cuc’s household. During his time of living, Mr. Le Tung Van named Mrs. Cuc’s household “Bong Lai Pure House”, and at the beginning of January 2020, it was changed to “Zen am on the bank of the universe”.

From 2019-2021, under the mastermind and direction of Mr. Le Tung Van, Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen, Trung Duong, Le Thu Van (SN 1957), Nhi Nguyen, Cao Thi Cuc, Le Thu Van and some people Others proceed to create YouTube accounts, carry out filming, staging and editing of clips and then post them on social networks in order for many people to view, comment, share, subscribe and spread quickly. .

In which, many clips contain content that distorts and insults the reputation of agencies and organizations; honor and dignity of the individual. Notably, the accused carried out the act of gathering to cause trouble, illegally filming at the headquarters of the Duc Hoa District Police Department and distorting and insulting the reputation of this agency; then edit the clip content to post on social networks for many people to view, share and comment on.

People in the “Peng Lai Monastery” before being prosecuted

On January 5, 2022, the Investigation Police Agency of Duc Hoa District Police issued a decision to prosecute the accused against Le Tung Van, Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen and Le Thanh Trung Duong to continue investigating the behavior. Abuse of democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the state, organizations and individuals.

At the same time, the investigating agency ordered the arrest of the accused to be held in custody for Hoan Nguyen, Nhat Nguyen and Trung Duong. Particularly, defendant Le Tung Van was banned from leaving the place of residence.

At the end of February 2022, the People’s Procuracy of Duc Hoa district made a decision to transfer the case to the Investigation Security Agency of Long An Provincial Police for investigation according to its competence. From here, two defendants Cao Thi Cuc and Nhi Nguyen were respectively prosecuted and detained.

The defendant Le Thu Van has not yet identified his whereabouts, so he has not yet carried out legal proceedings as prescribed. This woman is the biological mother of three defendants Nhi Nguyen, Hoan Nguyen and Nhat Nguyen.
