China announces preliminary results of plane crash investigation

Regarding the above incident, on April 20, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) released a preliminary investigation report.

The report said that the crew members and maintenance staff of flight MU5735 had complied with the relevant standards, the certification of the Boeing 737-800’s ability to fly is still valid.

The report confirmed there were no items on board that would be considered dangerous goods, nor were there any hazardous weather forecasts. According to the report, before the plane crashed, radio communications between the crew and air traffic control staff did not show any abnormalities.

“Both black boxes have been severely damaged and recovery and data analysis are still underway to determine the cause of the Boeing 737-800 crash.“, the CAAC said in a statement.

The CAAC also did not give any notable details as to what could have caused the incident accident catastrophic after 1 month of investigation. Most accidents are caused by technical and human factors.

“There are many difficulties in investigating the cause of this accident, and at present the evidence is very limited,” Xinhua news agency said. quoted a CAAC official as saying.

For now, the investigation team will continue their work, including examining the debris and analyzing flight data to find out the cause of the plane crash in a scientific and accurate way, according to the above report. .

However, according to the CAAC, to conclude the cause of the plane carrying 132 people to crash will take up to 2 years, or even more.

It is known that one month after the accident, China Eastern has resumed commercial flights of its 223 fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft that they own.
