Rain “blink”, the road in Thao Dien area is flooded

On the afternoon of March 20, unseasonal rain appeared in Ho Chi Minh City, lasting about 30 minutes, causing some roads to be flooded and trees to fall.

From about 2pm on 20/3, quite heavy rain with strong wind started to appear in Thu Duc city, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Phu Nhuan … of Ho Chi Minh City. The rain fell suddenly, many people had to rush to the side of the road to put on raincoats and take shelter on the porches of houses and roadside shops.

The rain has helped the roads and air in many areas in Ho Chi Minh City cool down after long hot days.

Quoc Huong Street, Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien Ward, Ho Chi Minh City was flooded after the rain for about 30 minutes.

After heavy rain for about 30 minutes, some roads such as Nguyen Van Huong, Quoc Huong (Thao Dien ward, Thu Duc city), Ung Van Khiem were flooded in many sections. In which, Nguyen Van Huong street has a low-lying section that is flooded with half a motorbike wheel. Drivers of cars and motorbikes must run quickly through the flooded section, following the sidewalk to avoid the vehicle stalling.

On Quoc Huong street, Thao Dien ward, an eagle tree was uprooted and fell on the side of the road. People here said that during heavy rain, strong winds caused the tree to be uprooted, fortunately there were no people and vehicles moving at the time of the incident, so there was no damage.

According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Station of the Southern region, on March 20, the weather in the Southern region will appear unseasonal rains, cloudy skies, and thunderstorms in some places.
