Launched on January 29, 2021, the SMEdx Program aims to accelerate digital transformation in small and medium-sized enterprises through the use of a digital platform selected by the program, helping businesses optimize work. According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung, this year, all 63/63 provinces and cities will jointly implement the Program to support small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation.

Speaking at a conference to promote the program to support small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation in 2022 taking place on the afternoon of March 24, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung once again emphasized: Digital platform is a breakthrough solution. for us to popularize and turn digital technology into a service, one of the inputs for production such as electricity, water… and pay as much as you use. The goal is how small and medium-sized businesses use digital technology such as electricity and water, so that digital transformation can be successful.

Commenting that digital transformation will help small and medium-sized businesses solve their pain, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung said that the State, specifically the Ministry of Information and Communications, helps evaluate and select excellent Vietnamese digital platforms to use. introduced to the business. The total number of visits to Smedx.vn Portal as of December 31, 2021 is more than 220,000, reaching more than 37,000 businesses. Through the form of SMS brandname with 3 messaging sessions, the program to support small and medium enterprises in converting SMEdx numbers has reached 170,000 businesses in 39 localities.

In particular, thanks to a variety of approaches, in 2021, more than 16,000 businesses chose to use the platforms in the SMEdx program for digital transformation.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc, President of the Vietnam Tax Consultants Association, on average, each business can save 300 working hours per year when using digital platforms. It is estimated that with more than 700,000 businesses, the savings can be up to more than 8,000 billion VND per year.

A representative of the Department of Business Management, Ministry of Information and Communications has just signed a cooperation agreement to implement the SMEdx program in 2022 with 27 businesses with excellent digital platforms.

In the plan, in 2022, the Ministry of Information and Communications will continue to select excellent digital platforms to support small and medium enterprises, with the goal of 30 Make in Vietnam digital platforms to participate; 150,000 people access via Smedx.vn Portal; 30,000 businesses use platforms for digital transformation; 200,000 business owners receive messages encouraging digital transformation and refer the SMEdx Program.

A new feature of the SMEdx Program in 2022 is the toolkit to assess the level of digital transformation of DBI businesses. This is considered a measure to assess the readiness and level of digital transformation of enterprises and production and business establishments nationwide.

This year, the Ministry of Information and Communications plans to assess the digital transformation level of 100,000 businesses nationwide based on the DBI toolkit. The assessment results are the basis for completing specific action programs, promoting businesses to digital transformation and development of the digital economy.
