Ms. Nguyen shared, the most commonly purchased fruit is the unshelled coconut, still in the bunch. In addition, customers also buy Siamese coconuts, which are peeled directly by the owner, still ensuring natural freshness, without using preservatives or bleaching.

In the past two months, Ms. Nguyen has sold about 1,500 fruits every day. In addition, she also sells related dishes such as coconut jelly, coconut jam.

Due to the increased demand to buy Siamese coconuts, people who buy less must also have dozens of fruits, if they buy a lot, then several dozen at a time, so the price of coconut has also increased rapidly, double the previous year. Most types of coconuts range in price from 150,000 to 220,000 VND/10 fruit depending on the size. Even though her shop has 3-4 service staff, it is always busy.

Her shop also sells pure Siamese coconut water, priced at 60,000 VND/liter, which is also bought by many customers because it is both cheap and convenient.

The owner of a wholesale fruit agent in Long Bien market (Hanoi) also said that normally before Tet, the price of Siamese coconut (peeled) here is only around 100,000 VND/10 fruit. However, since the Lunar New Year, the price of coconut has increased gradually, peaking at 220,000 VND/dozen. Up to now, the price of coconut has cooled down but is still anchored at a high level, from 170,000-180,000 VND/dozen.
