While the people of Tan Thanh hamlet were panicking because the man’s body died for unknown reasons, a day later, on the afternoon of January 9, the police of My Tu district received a report of finding her missing husband from Ms. Van Thi Thuy. 32 years old, in My Ninh hamlet, My Tu commune (My Tu district, Soc Trang).
The time Thuy reported looking for a husband was also the time when the male body was discovered, so the police agency sent Thuy to identify the body.
According to Vietnamese Lifetime, as soon as she saw the body, Van Thi Thuy cried bitterly: “Brother, how will I live when I die and my two children! A few days ago, you said you were going out to talk about sugarcane making, promise? do not do…”.
With that cry, Thuy confirmed to the police that the body was her husband – Mr. Tran Van Nh. (38 years old). Returning home from the police station, on the night of January 9, Thuy committed suicide by drinking pesticides to follow her husband, leaving the family and neighbors shocked by the close affection of the young couple.
Thuy was fortunate to be taken to the hospital in time, so she passed the critical situation and was wholeheartedly cared for by her family. Everyone feels sorry for the woman who suddenly lost her husband, so she couldn’t accept the truth and was ready to give up her life to go with her husband to the place of nine springs.

On June 26, 2013, the People’s Court of Soc Trang province sentenced Tran Tuan Thanh (28 years old) to death, and Van Thi Thuy (32 years old) to life in prison for murder. According to the trial panel, the two defendants committed particularly serious crimes and were no longer capable of reforming and trampling on morals and fine customs, so they needed to be punished with the highest sentences to be enough to deter and prevent crimes. offense.
