The first comic book about Vietnamese football is about to be published in Japan
On the occasion of the Vietnam team’s trip to Japan within the framework of the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup, Kadokawa publisher introduced the first Japanese manga series about Vietnamese football. The series not only talks about football, but also introduces the cultural features and famous landscapes of Vietnam.
“Son Goal” is a comic series about the journey of a Vietnamese boy named Son in Vietnam. This manga is written by Japanese artist Baba Tamio in Japanese and Kadokawa Publishing House will cooperate with Kim Dong Publishing House to translate and publish this manga in Vietnam.
Mr. Aoyagi Masayuki, head of production at Kadokawa Publishing House, said: “In the past, publishers in Japan, including Kadokawa, mainly cooperated with Vietnamese partners to translate Japanese manga into English. Vietnamese and published in this Southeast Asian country. However, we realized that by doing so, the main character did not reflect the Vietnamese culture properly, so we decided to build a series of stories. paintings in the context of Vietnam and the culture of the Vietnamese people”.

Kadokawa Publishing House has built the project to produce and publish this manga with the hope of further promoting the understanding of the people of the two countries. After “Son Goal”, Kadokawa Publishing House will cooperate with Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts and publishers in Vietnam to produce other manga series and those works will be created by Vietnamese themselves. work. “Son Goal” is the first manga that Japanese manga makers write about Vietnam, it is expected to be published in the second half of this year.
