Will Smith officially apologized to Chris Rock for the humiliating slap at the Oscars, the Academy entered the investigation of the incident

On the morning of March 29 (Vietnam time), Will Smith caused a stir when officially speaking out about the slap scandal Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony stage and apologized to colleagues. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also spoke out yesterday, confirming that it will investigate and review the incident in accordance with the California Code, Standards of Conduct and Law. The original text of the letter shared by the actor himself through MXH is as follows:

Violence in any form is toxic and causes great harm. My actions at the Oscars ceremony last night were unacceptable and inexcusable. ‘Joking’ is also part of my job, but joking about Jada’s state of health is too much for me to bear. I reacted in an overly emotional way.

Chris, I want to formally apologize to you. I was over the limit, I was wrong. I’m really embarrassed, this action has made me reveal a side I don’t want. A world filled with love and compassion leaves no room for violence.

I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the show’s producers, all the guests who attended and those who watched the show around the world. I want to apologize to the Williams family, family King Richard (the film that helped Will Smith win “Best Actor” of the Oscar). I deeply regret that my behavior has tainted our wonderful journey.

I will correct myself.

Best regards.
