Black box of crashed Chinese plane found
Chinese aviation officials said that one of the two black boxes of the plane carrying 132 people had been recovered which crashed in Guangxi on March 21.
“A black box from China Eastern flight MU5735 was found on March 23,” said Liu Lusong, a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Administration of China today.
On each plane are two devices, called black boxes, including a Cockpit Voice Recorder and a Flight Data Logger. In fact, they are painted orange for easier viewing. The black box could provide clues to explain why the Boeing 737-800 suddenly crashed at an altitude of nearly 9,000 meters and crashed into a mountainside at a speed of about 600 km/h.

A China Eastern plane carrying 123 passengers and nine crew crashed into a mountainside in Teng county, Wuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, southern China, on March 21. Zhu Tao, director of aviation safety at the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said on March 22 that the plane was badly damaged, making investigations difficult.
A search effort was launched on the same day, but there are no survivors. The Chinese rescue team today had to halt search operations due to heavy rains in the area. Rainwater flooded the crater where the plane crashed, and at the same time created the risk of a landslide, threatening search forces.
