Invest in two railway lines of more than 90 trillion VND connecting Long Thanh airport

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has just requested the Ministry of Transport to agree with the People’s Committees of Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City and related ministries on the investment plan for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau railway project. and Thu Thiem light rail project – Long Thanh international airport, ensuring compliance with the planning and competence in accordance with the law.

The Thu Thiem light rail project – Long Thanh airport has its starting point at Thu Thiem station, City. Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City and the end point at Long Thanh International Airport.

The route has a length of 37.5km with a total preliminary investment of about 40,566 billion VND; is expected to invest in the form of PPP.

The Bien Hoa – Vung Tau railway project has its starting point at Trang Bom station (gauge 1,435mm) in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province; and the end point at Cai Mep – Thi Vai international port.

The project has a length of 65km, a total investment of 50,822 billion VND; is expected to invest in the form of PPP.

The above two railway lines, invested and built soon, will help synchronize the transport infrastructure system connecting with Long Thanh airport, thereby creating conditions to maximize the advantages of this “super” project.
