The balance between work and private life is what many young people like Thuy Hang want the most right now

Returning to work after the Lunar New Year, nearly 2 months this month, Nguyen Thuy Hang (26 years old, living in Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi) started the “habit” of turning off notifications of work-related groups on her phone and computer after returning home from work.

If in the past, there was just a notification on the screen that the 26-year-old girl would immediately reach for the phone. Currently, instead of busy answering emails, handling unexpected requests from colleagues and superiors until tired, she will spend this time on personal hobbies, connecting with friends and emailing. Relax to relax your mind.

“In the past, I could only sleep 2, 3 hours a day or toss and turn all night thinking about unfinished deadlines. Now, I am willing to refuse unexpected but not too urgent jobs, only work overtime when I feel it is necessary, and will never work on a day off.” Thuy Hang said.

As an event organizer for a technology company, Thuy Hang’s daily work requires her to have multitasking, flexibility in terms of time and working method. Therefore, the young girl used to suffer from severe stress when facing a huge workload and a busy schedule of meetings and partners every day.

“There were times when my day was just repeating myself with phone calls and emails from morning to night. I don’t eat at the right time, don’t sleep at the right time, can’t arrange time between work and personal life. Even, for a whole month, I did not have a day to sleep for 5 hours. It only stopped before Tet when I had to be hospitalized and given water due to exhaustion.” Thuy Hang said.

From that moment, feeling the fear when her health was affected, Thuy Hang trained herself to refuse work when she didn’t feel good. Instead of devoting herself to deadlines and projects like before, she tries to spend time with herself and her family. All she wants is a balance between work and private life.

“For me at the moment, spirit, health and the clear division of time to work and rest and relax need to be on top. Saying ‘no’ to unnecessarily unexpected requests and being more strict with myself helps me work more efficiently and healthier.” 26-year-old girl expressed.

Refuse stress, pressure

Like Thuy Hang, after 5 years of working hard for the company, Ngo Hoang Vu (27 years old, living in Cau Giay district, Hanoi) no longer appreciates dedication and excessive devotion in his career.

“After work, away from the office environment in my beloved car, I feel full of energy, not moody, “plug” step by step home like before. I spend more time on personal hobbies such as cooking, watching movies, learning foreign languages, and participating in groups that actively share about life on social networks.” Hoang Vu said.

The 27-year-old said that although many of his peers are taking advantage of their youth and all the time they have to achieve a high income and an admirable position, what he always tries is to find balance. Young people need to believe and be determined to follow the path they choose if they don’t want to miss their future

“Being born, growing up and having access to many changes in society makes spiritual life issues more interested by young people with the desire to lead to real happiness. Many young people choose a lifestyle that makes enough money and is satisfied with reality.

However, the line between psychological satisfaction and non-progressive, frivolous pursuit of values is very thin. The determination must depend on the psychology and life circumstances of each person. In order for young people to achieve psychological balance, they must have clear directions and plans and understand the values that really affect them.

If you can ignore stress and pressure, do it to make life easier and more comfortable. When the force chooses to face and fight the harsh reality of life, it will help young people grow, develop themselves and open up new opportunities. Most importantly, young people need to believe and be determined to follow the path they choose“, the expert shared.
