Ton Ha Anh and Ton Hien Anh are known as a pair of good academic sisters, both in turn winning full scholarships from Harvard University. Two talented Vietnamese girls were born in a family with a father working in the field of post and telecommunications, and mother a lecturer at the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine.
In early 2012, Ton Ha Anh received a full scholarship from Harvard University, in addition to a full scholarship from leading American universities such as Princeton, Columbia, Brown and Wellesley College. 6 years later, her younger sister Ton Hien Anh also received a full scholarship from this prestigious school.
Studying in grades 10 and 11 at Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Ha Anh chose to study in the US in her final year of high school. Independent, away from parents early, 9X personally observed and analyzed to adapt to a new life, with new friends up to 16 hours away from home. Ha Anh always tries to balance between schoolwork and extracurricular activities.
“Different from the high school I used to attend, mainly white students in the South of the United States, Harvard is like a larger, colorful version, helping me to develop into a more comprehensive person. It is a playground for me to discover my passions and orient myself.”Ha Anh once shared on Zing.
It is because of those efforts that during her study here, she has achieved many outstanding achievements such as: participating in an Independent Research Project in 2016 with the famous professor who won the Nobel Prize in Economics Oliver Hart, assumes the role of Executive Producer of the Harvard Identities Fashion Show, in charge of communications and development of the Harvard Social Innovation Collaborative…
Currently, Ton Ha Anh has graduated from university for 4 years and is a senior consultant at McKinsey international management consulting company, New York – a leading business consulting company in the world. Pursuing this job, Ha Anh initially encountered a lot of pressure. Her mother once shared that her daughter, during that time, called every week to talk to her mother and sometimes couldn’t hold back her tears when talking about the pressure. Gradually, with the support and encouragement from her parents, Ha Anh loved her job more.
9X is also pursuing a Master’s degree at Harvard University because she follows her mother’s example: “Every time I see my mother talking passionately about work for hours, still answering the phone when a patient asks, seeing her happiness when studying and pursuing her passion, we realize that we also want to pursue goal of life to never have regrets.”
At the age of 30, in addition to work and study, Ha Anh “picks up sweet fruits”, her beauty is also “increasing”. Possessing a beautiful and fragile appearance, Ha Anh often posts her everyday moments with family and friends.
