Major game platforms collaborate towards building the metaverse digital space

FlickPlay is an app that combines real-world, camera-captured images with digital artifacts so users can create and order collections of NFTs (non-fungible tokens – a similar type of digital asset digital currency using open source blockchain technology).

On April 18, FlickPlay announced the first NFT collection called Flicky, which features the design of a chameleon dressed in different clothes. A portion of those who acquire Flicky will be able to use NFT as their avatar on The Sandbox, a game ecosystem where users have the freedom to create and build a 3-D virtual world.

FlickPlay owners will initially unlock a version of the chameleon for use on The Sandbox, said Pierina Merino, founder and CEO of FlickPlay. However, they will soon be able to use the exact version of the digital asset stored on the blockchain in both games.

For his part, Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox, said the integration is remarkable as it could be the first bridge between NFT in the virtual world and linked usage in the real world. He expressed hope that the partnership with FlickPlay will help create a more immersive experience.

The cooperation between FlickPlay and The Sandbox is considered a key step in building space metaverse. Metaverse is a digital space created as a virtual world, where users can interact with each other and have authentic experiences just like the real world.

Through virtual reality aids such as VR or AR, people can live and role-play in the metaverse space. Instead of meeting face-to-face in the real world, the metaverse allows people to role-play to meet and interact with each other in virtual space despite all physical obstacles. When metaverse combines with blockchain technology and NFT, it will form a complete and potential connection.
