In the friendly match with South Korea U20 tonight at Hang Day Stadium, Coach Park Hang-seo launched the “U23+3” Vietnam team with a 3-5-2 diagram: Goalkeeper Van Toan, the central trio. Viet Anh – Thanh Binh – Phan Tuan Tai; two wingers Van Do (right), Van Xuan (left); the trio of central midfielders Hoang Anh – Hoang Duc – Hung Dung; striker duo Tien Linh – Van Tung.

As a result, U23 Vietnam won the final 1-0 with the only goal of striker Van Tung.

Speaking after the press conference after the match, Coach Park Hang-seo expressed: “Due to the regulation, only 20 players can be registered, minus 2 goalkeepers, only 18 are left, of which there are 3 positions of the above players. 23 years old is Hoang Duc, Tien Linh, Hung Dung already,

Therefore, I will have to be careful when making the final decision to enter the SEA Games list. Versatile players who can kick more than one position on the field will be given priority.”

Regarding the force of U23 Vietnam, Coach Park Hang-seo added: “SEA Games 31 takes place when the Covid-19 epidemic is still having complicated developments. According to the charter, we can change the Unfortunately, the player tested positive during the tournament.

So, in addition to the 20 officially registered players, I need 6-7 players who are still training, ready to play when called to replace.”

When the press questioned the opinion of Korean U20 coach Kim Eun Jung when he said that Vietnam U23 had won thanks to the appearance of 3 players over 23 years old in tonight’s match, Coach Park Hang-seo calmly replied. : “I think that’s why we have to call 3 players over 23 years old to attend the SEA Games. They are national players, have good qualifications, create a good game for U23 Vietnam”.

In conclusion, coach Park Hang-seo emphasized: “In short, in tonight’s match against Korea U20, I have two goals. Second, check the harmony between players over 23 years old and the rest. Second, I want to see how U23 Vietnam will play when there are not 3 players over 23 years old on the field.

Basically, I already have my calculations and options. With the current force, I’m just sure we’ll try our best.

I’m not saying we’re going to win gold. Because if I don’t win, I will be criticized by the press.”
