Chelsea one point away from Champions League ticket

They created a series of scoring opportunities at the end of the first half. Lukaku once put the ball in the Leeds net but was caught offside. The Belgian striker then released his heel for James to stretch inward, but Pulisic hit goalkeeper Meslier. Chelsea controlled the ball 67% of the time, finishing seven times in the first half.

Chelsea doubled the lead 10 minutes after the second half started. Mason Mount hit his heel from the edge of the penalty area, opening space for Pulisic to shoot into the far corner to score. Three minutes after this goal, Pulisic had a chance to finish in the same position but the ball went over the bar. Lukaku then crosses the ball across the goal and then shoots his left foot to send the ball to the post. He missed another chance in the 80th minute, when he kicked the defender from Alonso’s cross into the box.

After many missed opportunities, Lukaku found a goal after 84 minutes. From Ziyech’s cross in the penalty area, the Belgian striker managed to find himself between the keeper and three Leeds defenders, then shot with his left foot to make it 3. -0. Lukaku’s eighth goal in the Premier League and 15th in all competitions this season.

The 0-3 defeat at home made Leeds continue to stay in the relegation group. They have the same 34 points as Burnley but have less difference and play more than one game. Leeds must win their last two matches, against Brighton and Brentford, to keep their hopes of staying in the Premier League.
