Previously, on March 24, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hang was also prosecuted by the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Bureau of Investigation, prosecuted the accused and detained for 3 months for the crime of “abusing democratic freedoms and rights. infringing upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals” according to Article 331 of the 2015 Penal Code, as amended and supplemented in 2017.
Before being arrested, Ms. Hang often used many social media accounts to livestream insulting many artists, lawyers, journalists and many others.
When the Investigative Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security verified and concluded that they did not commit fraud, did not appropriate money and did not prosecute criminal cases, Ms. Hang continued to livestream protesting and insulting them.
