CNN quoted US CDC data as saying that in 2021 in the US, more than 415,000 people will die from COVID-19, about 605,000 people will die from cancer and about 693,000 people will die from heart disease.

Influenza has dropped off the list of the top 10 causes of death in the US in 2021, and suicide is the 10th leading cause of death.

People aged 85 and over have a higher mortality rate from COVID-19 than any other age group. More male patients die from COVID-19 than female patients.

2021 is also the second consecutive year that COVID-19 is considered the 3rd highest cause of death in the US, with the death rate increasing in most age groups, after 2020. However, the US recorded the number of cases. There will be 60,000 more deaths from COVID-19 in 2021 than in 2020.
