Foreign investors are optimistic about Vietnam’s capital market

The years, capital market of Vietnam, including: stock market, bond market… has developed rapidly. If in 2015, the size of the capital market reached less than 40% of GDP, by 2021 it will increase 3.5 times, reaching more than 134% of GDP.

However, the rapid growth of the stock market and the bond market has generated potential risks. The market appears to have the following phenomena: price manipulation, price manipulation… increasingly sophisticated. In particular, a number of organizations and individuals have committed serious violations and been handled.

The Government has directed the Ministry of Finance and related ministries and branches to: build and complete the legal corridor, submit to competent authorities for promulgation appropriate and effective mechanisms, institutions and policies, not exceeding tight, not too loose… to protect genuine and responsible investors.

In the last 5 weeks, foreign investors have continuously net bought stocks, fund certificates… with a value of 3,589 billion dong (about 155 million USD). This shows that foreign investors are still quite optimistic about Vietnam’s capital market.
